Conquering the Blue wall

This piece truly challenged me. Layer after layer of pastel, paint, and emotion went into trying to capture the raw power of this wave and the surfer daring to conquer it.

I wanted to express the immense energy of the ocean — the force, movement, and unpredictability that every wave carries within it. In the middle of that power is a single surfer, riding the moment between control and surrender.

Living in Rincón gives me the gift of witnessing this beauty in person. This painting is my attempt to translate the nature onto canvas — the awe, the respect, and the gratitude for being here to experience it.
